On 14 May 2026, during the International Conference on Leading Transformation in Disability Support Services held in Porto, FORMEM received the 2026 EASPD Innovation Award. BIRP – Battery of Personal Outcome Indicators was recognised as one of the five most innovative approaches driving organisational development and overcoming existing barriers to strengthen the capacity of disability support services. During the same week, the CoQuality Consortium (https://coquality.org/) made available the English versions of the BIRP Overview and the BIRP – Set of Personal Performance Indicators. FORMEM also entered the production phase of the BIRP Digital Platform, a project co-funded by the IDiPD I.P. – https://formem.org.pt/inr-73-2026/ )
BIRP represents a strategic investment by FORMEM to monitor the impact of support services on beneficiaries, provide data for individual planning and organisational management, and promote a shared platform for benchmarking and learning among vocational training and employment organisations supporting persons with disabilities.
